Dare to Live; Ashaba Music

The three young ladies belted out the opening lines, “Melodies from heaven come rain on me and they would bless the chapel at high school with  melodious voices. Pride now Ashaba Music is a great high school friend and we kept the banter mostly on Facebook, she at Kyambogo and I at Mukono. While she was at Eureka in Ntinda,we were always in touch and I thought that certified accounting was the way to go but life has plans

Friendship is everything. Friendship is more than talent. It is more than the government. It is almost the equal of family.- Don Corleone” ― Mario Puzo, The Godfather.

Friends are the relatives outside of our blood given relations and Ashaba is a sister from another mother.

When I was young, I used to admire intelligent people but as I grew older my admiration waned as I found kind people more gracious and admirable. Most intelligent people talk to me in their free time, kind people free their time to talk to me. That’s the greatest life lesson considering my situation,I fell ill in early 2017 and Ashaba was one of the first people to check on me she later came around with the C’s, the last time I asked about them well she told me that life happened not as we envisage but I replied that all was well.

Ashaba Music

In her recent interview on the podcast, Healing with Dawryn  she said that she tells her audience that music was slapped out of her  I want to call this, Creative therapy. Ashaba Music is a gem

Creative therapy is a fascinating approach that combines artistic expression with therapeutic techniques to help individuals explore their emotions, process experiences, and foster personal growth. It can involve activities like painting, drawing, music, dance, drama, or even creative writing. Ashaba took to music where she has an upper hand

The beauty of creative therapy lies in its ability to provide a safe and non-judgmental space for self-expression. You don’t need to be skilled in the arts to benefit from it—it’s all about the process, not the final product. For example, drawing or painting can help someone express feelings they struggle to put into words, while music or dance can provide an outlet for expression

Ashaba has a way she plucks the guitar so effortlessly that you think that her hands are aligned with the strings. She at one time made me a video singing one of my favorite songs, emlanjeni

Dear Ashy, today is the day you turn one year older and I more than anyone wish you the very best, I love how you are thriving musically. My simple message is, Try looking at tomorrow not yesterday and all the things you left behind  All those tender words you did not say
The gentle touch you couldn’t find
In these days of nameless faces
There’s no one truth, but only pieces
My life is all I have to give. Happy birthday my dear friend, be blessed

This has made me tear up. The trip down memory lane to a time in high school when we all wanted THE FUTURE but had no idea what it would bring, how cruel pieces of it would be and yet, how strong we would become through it all.

I have a treasure in you my friend. This has made me absolutely grateful this beautiful day.

To friendship, to dreams we thought we needed and to dreams God had planned for us 🥂

    Love and Light
