I define myself as a prisoner of hope but more so , as an existentialist. Existentialism is a philosophical theory or approach which emphasizes the existence of the individual person as a free and responsible agent determining their own development through acts of the will. Growing up, I loved reading newspapers and more so reading people’s opinions, When I joined Facebook, I continued writing thoughts on different issues because I have always stood for what I believe is right. The reason I believe in writing is because it shapes national debate.
A few years ago, I wrote about the Police brutality on journalists because I felt it was wrong and unlawful.
Never think that your writing is not going to be read because next, I got a call to appear with the police spokesperson and we discussed a number of issues
Now did my advocacy/activism change anything? Should I get discouraged, perhaps, yes . There is a video by Wangari , she is pointing out the concept of the hummingbird, small as it was,it said, I must do something. That’s what I do,I don’t believe in just existing without a purpose. I have to contribute to the national debate.
In perfect health, I always desired to have a say in the national policy, I appeared before the Parliamentary Legal Committee advocating for a right to health to be included in the constitution
So what am I getting at, advocacy has been me and when life came with a bitter Tangerine,I made fine tangerine custard dessert and I am writing on. I love the word writivism because currently, I can write as well as do activism behind a keyboard which is writivism.
I have been nominated for the Afrobloggers awards 2021 and yours truly has been nominated in the activism category. All you have to do is click here and vote for my blog.
Tangerine!!! ✨✨✨
A very good way to get us to vote. 💪🏽
Dear Mwene,
Have I mentioned how much I love to read from you?
Well, your writivism is making a whole lot of sense!
