This Walk of Life

Wednesdays meant a prayer day for me while growing up. It was cell time at Watoto church (formely KPC). Aunt Marie hosted a cell at Mbuya and by that time , Bugoloobi was in the Eastern part of Kampala according to the way they had grouped it. At Sunday school, we sang songs like,’Read your Bible, pray everyday… if you want to grow’. Indeed there’s nothing edifying as the word of God.

Phillipians 4:19; And my God shall meet your needs according to the riches of Christ Jesus. I fell ill at a time when we were financially down, friends organized a fundraiser for my rehabilitation and continue to stand with me financially. I don’t take that for granted. Psalms 121; I look up to the hills, where does my help come from, my help comes from the Lord.

John 11; We are told of the story of Lazarus, the man from Bethany, when word got to Jesus that he was ill,he replied that the sickness won’t end in death but for the glory of God. My life is in itself a miracle, I have fed through a tube, been unconscious for three days but by the lord’s grace, here I am. I am a believer in Christ who lived and still lives, sometimes I find myself writing as a Christian apologetic because we’re in a world full of Skeptics 1 Peter 3:15 ” Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it.”

Life is about choices, I could have sat down and cried and asked God why this happened at the time I was starting out but I said, no , paralysis has nothing on me. I’m going to write about the goodness of the lord. I’m a prisoner of hope, chained to his love, bound by his grace.

Lamentations 3:24 “The Lord is my portion sayeth my soul and I will put my trust in him”. The Bible tells us of how Saul was overcome with fear that he sought counsel from a sorcerer. Sometimes situations will overwhelm you but never become a slave to fear because at that time, the anointing is taken away when we trust men. A few times, I am asked,”What keeps you going?”, “The joy of the lord is my strength”I answer 1 Petert5:7 says “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for us”. Just throw it on him, and let him carry your burdens. Jesus said we could cast all of our cares on him because he cares for us.I won’t lie to the reader, some times burdens can overwhelm but the simple way is to cast everything unto Jesus Christ and you will have peace. The greatest thing a Christian can do is to trust the father with all the cares. It’s easy to trust the Lord when everything is going well with our expectations for now I will use, perfect health but can you trust him in the face of a debilitating paralysis that leaves you speechless with nothing to live for? Well I am trusting the most high because he sent his word and healed our disease. We are but mere clay and God is the Potter. Clay cannot say to the Potter,”I don’t trust you”.

I have written about This walk of Life and everytime I am attending the online fellowship, I am taken back to many years ago, when we had cell, this time it’s online cell.We have bold, empowering conversations on how we are to walk in this life.

Yeah, it’s easy when up on the mountain, easy to trust when things are easy-it’s in the valley that the faith is put to a test! Let’s press on☺️

  3. Mercy Kiige says:

‘The Lord is my portion, therefore I hope in Him’
‘The joy of the Lord is my strength’

Thank you for reminding me these two things this morning.
