A few days ago, Daisy informed me about Anchor’s birthday and where it was taking place, without any time to think, I was already in. I call the A³ (Anchor, Asante, Avery) the landlords and in my conversation with her,I always ask about them because they are a joy to watch and spend time with, on a serious note,we should think about a TV show,”Keeping up with the Kasujjas”, Fiona could produce the show imagine the show anyway ignore my silly thoughts lets get to the story. I mentioned to Daisy that I love the concept of community celebration because as the children grow up, they will have a culture of giving and realizing that you have to share with others, they will also develop empathy. The greatest wealth you can leave with your children are value systems because with that,a lot of doors can open in Life. A child learns to appreciate that there is inequality and is therefore grateful for everything that is given to them, you won’t find a child wasting away food because they know where the money comes from and there’s no more waste.
The party was on point the clown entertained the kids and there was this game of walking around a chair with sodas on it and suddenly the music stopping then you would see the adults with their demeanour and cheating,in one of the games, Daisy carried Avery to occupy a seat and I wrote to Fiona that she was behaving like the National Rigging Movement (NRM)
When the Nsubugas(hosts) began speaking especially Prossy, I could relate with whatever she said then I remembered a quote, Friendship is everything. Friendship is more than talent. It is more than the government. It is almost the equal of family.- Don Corleone” ― Mario Puzo, The Godfather. Prossy talked about Daisy’s kindness and character and that was so her. Daisy is a person who can strike up a friendship with a janitor if she were operating on a Mall, she is that kind of character. Prossy went on to say has high end friends and even joked that no one can dare take her to court because she is covered. I summarize that as being loved by the best and being favored. That was Prossy talking about what I have been through for the last nine years.
I also met Fiona and I must say it was great catching up and though little was said, you could sense and feel the joy, my standout moment was a child who did not have most of the teeth volunteering to open a lollipop for his friend who could not open, now that was selfless. It’s such small things that I live for. We spend so much time in our adult life and hustle but Sunday made us little ones, happy birthday Anchor, you are loved. I wrote Anchor a letter for his birthday, you can read it here.
