Neurogenesis can be defined as a process by which the brain regenerates nerve cells. Now in simple speak a stroke is a brain attack where there’s insufficient oxygen to the brain thereby the nerve cells dying. Now there are mixed opinions as to whether the damaged stem cells can be rebuilt, one theory is that it is impossible and another is that it actually is.
When I suffered a stroke in 2016 well it was a shock but just as we have adapted to the new normal with the Chinese flu, I quickly adjusted to my new normal, the left side of the brain was affected meaning speech and movement were affected. The brain is like the CPU of the body, even as you are reading this, the medulla oblongata is at work controlling how you breathe, the human body is that amazing, now I am a creationist and firm believer in the Christ who lived and still lives, the Bible says that we are wonderfully and beautifully made. There is a senior physician whom I see and this guy is an empiricist but during one of the visits he was explaining the brain anatomy and began,”When God created us…” It was surprising that such a scientist could acknowledge the creator of the human being as God, Indeed believing the word of God has blessed me. Throughout the journey,I would not have made it without Friends who have been my pillar,I always tell myself that I must have done the right thing to deserve the empathy and friends I have.
Now with Neurogenesis, basically its regenerating the nerve cells and this is a long process, you can get an accident and shatter all your bones and you recover quickly but when it comes to neurological conditions which involve the brain, patience is key, there are numerous factors like having a support system around you and this is family and friends.
Now physiotherapy pays off, yes it hasn’t been an easy journey but patience is key which is why I want to thank Aunt Marie,Brenda these have been with me through it all. Now about speech the Stroke affects the part of the brain which controls Speech but so far it is improving and day by day it will get better, My philosophy is, one day at a time,we shall get there.
The friends that stick closer than a brother. Your journey has been one of hope and testimony. Thank you for sharing your story.
